Heywood Metal Finishers
HMF was founded in 1961 when its anodising line, optimised for architectural products, started production in Field Mills, Huddersfield. It is these many years of experience that are the foundation for today's exceptional products and services.
LHT Anodisers
LHT was founded in 1969 and provided prestigious anodised services to the arhitectural market for more than 50 years.
To enhance quality and product development, the Uxbridge site was integrated into the Huddersfield site in 2021 (post-Covid) to strengthen the overall company and offer a “one stop shop” for all finishes.
There has been continued investment in the Huddersfield site, increasing capacity, improving quality, and allowing us to tailor our support for differing market sectors and better serve our customers.
Experience & Product Development
Our experience has made us one of the leading anodisers in the market, with decades of product and process development culminating in the diverse range of products and finishes we offer today.
We are proud to offer a selection of over 40 UV stable and A1 fire-rated colours covering every spectrum, including the latest developments in interference colouring.

Anolok I®
United Anodisers owns and operates the Anolok® process, a range of proven champagne to bronze to black finishes, where the colour is developed electrolytically by depositing bespoke metallic salts into the porous film.
Anolok® II Blue-Grey Anodising
The first interference colour was successfully produced at our Uxbridge site way back in 1983 and has developed into a new range of fade-free blue/grey finishes, from stone grey similar to concrete to a dark slate-coloured blue grey. This range is based on proven technology and has been demonstrated over the last 40 years to outperform all the alternatives.
The initial building anodised using the then-new Anolok II process was the Park Road building in Uxbridge, that still looks great today after many decades.
Although all grades of aluminium can be anodised, there are specific features relevant to many of the grades.
For high-quality architectural products, we would recommend extruded material specified from 6063/6060 aluminium extrusions.
For fabricated products, such as rain screen panels, we would recommend AQ-certified products such as Novellis J57sUP and Aluminium Duffel 55HX for any sheet requirements.
Expanded mesh is a bespoke product generally using 1050 H14 and is widely used for car park cladding.
